This year has been amazing! I have visited so many attractions and events its so hard to pick a few highlights! 2023 is already looking busy with Terror Island and Star Wars Celebration on the calendar!!
Blackpool Illuminations
Blackpool Illuminations are always a highlight of my year, but this year was even more special. This was the first time i had seen the full switch-on event without any covid restrictions!
The atmosphere was amazing, with the concert broadcast onto a screen on the comedy carpet, with acts like Tom Grennan and Blue entertaining everyone inside the tower and outside. The actual event was speculator, the fireworks all timed to music and lasting over 3 mins. After the fireworks i even got to meet one of my favourite youtubers, Shaun from Theme Park Worldwide!
The lights themselves are still amazing, with the new section just an outstanding addition to the golden mile. I was mad enough to walk the entire 6 mile display and i wasn't disappointed!

London Comic Con Oct 2022
This year i managed to visit Comic Con with my best mate, and this made it the best one i have ever attended. We got there almost as soon as the doors opened, and being with someone else, who was equally as enthusiastic, we got on the games console area, and visited some of the biggest retailers before the general entry time later in the day.
This was the first proper convention for me without the covid restrictions, and it did feel smaller than 2019 but hopefully 2023 will see it return to pre-covid size!

Cadbury World
It had been years since i lasted visited Cadbury World, but this year i managed to visit twice. It was brilliant getting off the train at Bournville and smelling the chocolate! My favourite part both times was the Cadbra ride and of course the factory shop! Will be interesting to see in the future the changes Merlin Entertainment make at the factory

Warwick Castle
This was another attraction i hadn't visited since the early 2000's and the place had changed a lot! Walking through the Kingsmaker was really interesting with the brilliant scenery and authentic smells. The climb up the tower was well-worth it for the views of the castle and the town. The highlight of the visit was the falconry display. The amount of birds on display and the information from the handlers was brilliant. I am already planning a return trip to experience the summer jousting and seeing the famous Trebuchet in action!

Blackgang Chine
Blackgang Chine is always a major part of my year and this year was no different! Just sitting on the bus from Newport and seeing the first sight of Gore Cliff just puts a mega smile on my face as the excitment grows as the bus gets closer to the park! Seeing the Giant Smuggler is the highlight of my entire IOW holiday.
The new attractions for 2022 fitted in well with the park, and i love the new drop-tower as the views over the cliff and the park are outstanding. This was the first year i got to visit the park with a friend and it was so much fun showing the madness of the park to a fresh pair of eyes! I really cant wait to visit the park next year.
