2023 Theatre Highlights

Updated: Dec 25, 2023

The year 2023 has been a whirlwind of activity and entertainment for me. I have discovered some amazing new shows that have captivated my attention and inspired my creativity. I have also revisited some old favourites that never fail to make me smile and appreciate their quality. Here are some of the highlights of my year in terms of shows and why I recommend them to you.

The Little Big Things

I was blown away by this show when I saw it at West End Live. They only did one song, but it was enough to hook me. I finally got tickets in October and OMG it was awesome. The music is so catchy and fun. I listened to the soundtrack so much it was on my Spotify Wrapped! The stage design is incredible, with the audience all around it. It feels like you're part of the show. The cast is flawless. They nailed every scene and song. I've seen it twice already and I want to go again before it ends.

Disney's Newsies

I was so thrilled to finally see the live show of this movie! I'm a huge fan of the Broadway version and the 1992 film, and I've watched them countless times. When I heard that they were bringing it to London, I was over the moon. This show was amazing. The actors, the scenery, the songs were all incredible. The venue was not a typical theatre, so they had a lot of room for a spectacular set, and they even had actors flying in on zip lines! I hope they will bring it to the West End and tour the UK soon. If you love this movie, you should check out the two versions on Disney+ right now!

Disney's Frozen

I was so excited to see the musical version of Frozen, one of my favorite movies ever. It was a magical experience to watch the characters come to life on stage, especially Olaf and Sven who were so adorable and funny. The scenery was stunning, especially during the iconic Let It Go scene. I was blown away by how they transformed the stage into a winter wonderland. Samantha Barks nailed that song, and I think she's the best Elsa ever. I had such a blast watching this show with my friend, and I can't wait to go back and see it again!

Bonnie & Clyde

I had the opportunity to see a show without knowing anything about it beforehand. It was a rare and thrilling experience! The show had a reverse chronological order, which confused me a bit at first, but then I got immersed in the story. The music was amazing, especially the song You Love Who You Love. The sets were stunning and the cast was spectacular. I wish I had paid more attention to this show when they performed at West End Live, but I'm glad I have another chance to see it in the new year!

Six

Its Six, no words needed to describe my love of this show!
