If you are looking for a musical that will make you want to dance in your seat and cheer for the underdogs, then you might want to check out "Disney's Newsies". This musical is based on the 1992 Disney movie of the same name, which tells the story of a group of young newspaper sellers in New York City who go on strike against the powerful newspaper publishers in 1899. The musical follows their struggle to fight for their rights and their dreams, while also dealing with friendship, romance, and betrayal.

"Newsies" is a musical that has something for everyone. It has a catchy and memorable score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman, who also wrote the songs for the movie. The musical features some of the original songs from the movie, such as "Carrying the Banner", "Santa Fe", and "King of New York", as well as some new songs that add more depth and emotion to the story, such as "The World Will Know", "Watch What Happens", and "Something to Believe In". The musical also has a witty and engaging book by Harvey Fierstein, who adds some humour and heart to the story.

But what really makes "Newsies" stand out is its amazing cast and choreography. The musical showcases the talents of some of the best young performers on Broadway, who bring their characters to life with passion and charisma. The choreography by Matt Cole is stunning and spectacular, combining elements of tap, ballet, jazz, and gymnastics. The dancers perform with incredible skill and energy, executing flips, spins, leaps, and kicks with ease. The choreography is especially impressive in the show-stopping numbers like "Seize the Day", "The World Will Know", and "Once and For All", where the dancers use props like newspapers, chairs, and barrels to create dynamic and exciting movements. The entire cast are perfect for the their roles especially Michael-Ahoma-Lindsay is the perfect Jack Kelly, and plays the role brilliantly! Having watched the origianal film and the broadway performance, this is the best version! There was a couple of changes in this performance compared to the others, with the Newsies of Brooklyn being women and never seeing the family of Davey (like you do in the film version).

"Newsies" is a musical that will make you feel inspired and empowered. It tells a story of courage and hope, of how a group of ordinary kids can make a difference in the world. It celebrates the power of friendship and solidarity, of how together we can overcome any obstacle. It also reminds us of the importance of following our dreams and staying true to ourselves. "Newsies" is a musical that will make you want to seize the day and join the revolution.

The show is currently performing at the Troubadour Theatre, Wembley. There is no seats that offer bad views of the stage, but the further back in the Manhattan area, you may miss the expressions on the faces. The other 2 areas offer side views of the stage and priced as premium. I sat in Manhattan Z30, which is a end of row seat and you have a good view of the stage and the expressions on the cast faces. Because of its immersive nature, there is no late admission so arrive on time.
