Jurassic World: The Exhibition

Updated: Nov 30, 2022

29th September 2022, London Excel Centre

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is an immersive attraction that takes you to Isla Nublar to visit Jurassic Park!

When you arrive at the Excel Centre you are taken on to a "boat" where the screens show you leaving the dock and starting the crossing! During this time you given the safety instructions and information about the island. The boat then docks on the island and cast member opens the door to the amazing sight of the island famous Jurassic Park Gates.

The first dinosaur you meet is Brachiosaurus! This dinosaur is massive and so life like, with all theming and sounds you start to forget you are in the middle of London!

After this, 2 keepers arrive with a Pteranodon, which you are not allowed to stroke due to a risk of biting but you can get a photo and interact with!

Around the corner you arrive at a dinosaur transporter, which contains a Stygimoloch. The keeper explains she is scared of the visitors, which is causing her to become distressed.

At this point you you enter the Hammond Creation Lab! Inside you are greeted by some scientists who explain what it is inside. You can see some eggs being incubator. There is some touch-screens that show what dinosaur is inside the egg!

Next you enter a holding pen which contains some Veloraptors being held securely for our safety! This then leads to a enclosure. A trainer appears with Blue, and shows the training that has been done with her.

The next area is a feeding area! There is a keeper on the top platform is in control of the enclosure, and next to him there is a dead cow. The spotlights come on and a shadow and rumbling, then a mega Indominus Rex appears and eats the cow!!

The next two areas are more interactive, with a recreation of a fossil dig with brushes provided to uncover some. You also get an opportunity to pet a baby Stygimoloch. The other area is a photo opportunity to sit inside a Gyrosphere and a picture with a baby Veloraptor!

An alarm goes off and panic spreads amongst the keepers, and we are guided into a area near an enclosure.

We are told there has been an escaped dinosaur and not to panic, but then a giant Tyrannosaurs Rex appears, knocking over the security light and getting more aggressive!! The security guard is telling us to keep still as he tries to open up a gate for us to escape!

Theming

The theming here was amazing. The inside of the boat was brillaint, the way the screens went from shutters to opening and showing the sea was brillaint.

The main exhibit was fantastic. The amount of effort to make you forget where you really was ,was spot on. The foliage was brilliant, and the information boards perfect.

The feeding tank enclosure was the highlight, With the lighting and sounds being outstanding. The T-Rex scene was breathtaking, with the dinosaur "destroying" various objects!

Animatronics

These animatronic dinosaurs are the best ones i have ever seen! They looked so life-like, with the fluid movements and sounds. With the theming being so good, you couldn't see any of the mechanical component. The best dinosaur had to be Indominus Rex. The way they managed to get it to move was wow!

Cost

It was on the steep side at £26 for off-peak but it is well worth the cost! You can see why it is that price. Prices do vary at different times of the week so check on the website for the price for the day you planning.

Merchandise

After almost being eaten by a T-Rex, you escape into the gift shop. The shop contains the usual gifts like Pins, T-Shirts, Lanyards and Mugs. There is also available Jurassic World Lego sets and Funko Pops!

Final Thought

This was an amazing exhibition, and so glad i went. I love dinosaurs and this was just fun, The cast members put so much energy into their parts, the animatronic just amazing and the overall theming made this a brillant trip. I really want to try and fit another trip! If you get the opportunity to visit Jurassic World, book your boat straight away!
