MCM Comic Con London 2023

28th October 2023, Excel London

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

MCM Comic Con 2023 was an amazing experience for any pop culture fan, and i am a mega one! It truely felt like they have recovered and return to the pre-pandemic size of the event!

I had a blast wondering around the halls seeing merchandise from loads of movies, TV shows, comics and games! I took a particular shine to the Forbidden Planet booth and spent a fortune in there on Star Wars and Doctor Who merchandise.

One of the amazing things about Comic Con is seeing all the cos-play around the halls. I saw loads of Star Wars related ones, but i headed straight to the British 501st Legion booth and saw the movie standard Darth Vader and other costunes! The Tauntan looked like it could have been straight out of Empire Strikes Back.

Another booth i really enjoyed was the Jurassic Park booth. This was home to the a full size T-Rex!

After exploring the show floor, i joined the queue for the Hasbro Panel. This panel was amazing and show cased the new Hasbro Releases from its Transformers, GI Joe, Marvel lines. But the part i was waiting for was the new Star Wars lines and they looked amazing!

The next panel i went to was the Halo Panel. This was the first time i have seen the people behind the voices of Master Chef and Cortana, Steve Downes and Jen Taylor. It was fascinating listening to them talking about how they didnt know about the success of Halo for several months after release, and how they get into character when they do the voice work. I actually closed my eyes for a second and they actually sounded like the characters without putting any effort in. That was the highlight of the event for me.

Overall this was my favourite comic con event i have visited! I really hope next years London event will be even better. Can't wait for Birmingham 2023 now!
