I had a blast at the sealife centre! It was my first time there since 1998 and wow, what a difference! Everything looked sparkling clean and well cared for. I breezed through the entrance with my online booking, no waiting at all. The only thing I missed was a guide book at the entrance, but I quickly got one after popping into the gift shop at the end.
Wow, what an amazing place to visit! The centre has so many different levels, each one with its own tanks and themes. You start with the adorable penguins, who are so happy and healthy. You can watch them waddle and swim for as long as you want. They are so cute and funny! Even if there are school trips, you can still get a good view of the animals, thanks to the many viewing ports. Next, you see a huge tube tank with colourful fish and plants. It's like a rainbow under the water! Then, you encounter a giant pool with stingrays. They are so graceful and elegant. A staff member is there to tell you more about the other fish in the pool.
The last area is full of tropical fish. You can see a big clown fish tank, with a tunnel that you can walk through. It's like being in Finding Nemo! The fish are so bright and beautiful. You feel like you are in a different world!
Wow, the clownfish tank was so colorful and lively! But I was even more amazed by the next tank, where I saw rays and sharks swimming gracefully. I couldn't get enough of them, so I knelt down and captured every moment with my camera. The other levels were also incredible, with so many different kinds of fish. But the best part was the jellyfish area. They were mesmerizing to watch, like floating jewels in the water. I learned so much about the diversity of jellyfish. I was a bit sad that I missed the otters Ozzy and Ola, who came all the way from Alaska in 2020. But I read their story and it was very inspiring. They must be so happy here in Birmingham!
The walk-through tunnel was the best part! I felt like I was in the ocean with the mega sharks gliding all around me, even under my feet on the glass floor. I also spotted the turtle resting in a corner of the tank. A friendly staff member was there to tell me all about the different types of sharks and the turtle's story.
You leave through the gift shop,, with a wide choice of gifts with sealife themeing and plenty of cuddly sea creatures to chose from! Overall this is the best Sealife Centre i have visited.I thought the London one was best but this is even better!
