⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Storyline:

The show follows Dewey Finn as he pretends to be a substitute teacher due to a lack of money He gets kicked out of his band and shortly after threatened with evection from his friend Ned Schneebly. His friend is a substitute teacher, and receives a phone call which Dewey answers. He finds out the total amount earnt is $950 a week so decides to take his friends place. He soon realizes the school, Horace Green, has extremely high standards, which he cant meet.

After hearing his class playing classic music, he comes up with a plan to transform, them into a rock band rather than teach them their main subjects.

The band gets through the audition stage for the Battle of the Bands competition (with the help of some fake illness acting) but the headteacher Rosalie, denies his request for a field trip, which was the disguise for the final stage of Battle of the Bands.

With the real Ned discovering a cheque for his work at Horace Green, Dewey's time as a substitute comes to a end. He gets kicked out of the school, but the children still want to carry on with the competition so hi-jack the school bus and tell Dewey how he has changed their lives for the better in showing them that they can enjoy different things rather what their parents assume they would like.

While the children are getting ready backstage, their parents try to storm the area, but the children tell them they want to do it, forcing them to buy a ticket from the entrance.

During the performance the parents and headteacher realize how happy and good the children and Dewey are as a band, The band doesn't win, but the school gains a music coach and the children finally gain their parents attention

Songs:

The show packs an amazing collection of original songs for the stage show and songs from the film version. The main song Stick it to the Man is sung several times in the show, and is amazing. The original song If Only You Would Listen is a standout song, with the children singing how their parents don't listen to them. Other songs such as Here at Horace Green and You're in the Band are really catchy and will stay in your head

Seat

Sat in Stalls Q 30. First time sitting in this particular section and it has an amazing view. Completely clear view of the stage, easy access and provides a quick exit during the interval for drinks and toilet.

Merchandise

There was a wide choice of T-Shirts with various logo's and slogans on. Also Keyrings, Magnets, Pens on sale as well. One program is available to purchase with information of the show, pictures and future shows at the venue.

Final Thought

This version is amazing, and dare i say it better than the film version. The energy of the cast, especially Jake Sharp who plays Dewey Finn is just breath-taking. Andrew Lloyd Webber is behind this adapation of the film and it has his very high standards, and is one of his best shows he has put on!

If this show comes to a theatre near you go and see it!!
