31st August 2022- Blackpool Winter Gardens

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Have seen this current cast twice now, and they have the most energy i have seen!

The show is about Henry 8th six wives, and who had the worst time being married to him, and who had the worst ending.

Catherine of Aragon opens the contest with No Way, describing her time with henry and the reason she was divorced. Anne Bolyen tells the story of how she broke England from the church and her beheading in the song "Don't lose Ur Head". Jane Seymour sings a ballard about her natural death and leaving her son to grow up without a mum, in the song "My Heart of Stone".

The funniest song is "Haus of Holbein" telling the story of how Henry chose Anna of Cleaves in Germany. She then goes on to sing "Get Down" describing how she was divorced because she didn't match her portrait. Katherine Howard then sings the story of her beheading in the song "All You Wanna Do". The final queen to sing is Catherine Parr who survived till henry died. She sings the song "I Don't Need Your Love" where she describes how she had to give up her true love to marry the king.

The Queens then realize that the one thing they have in common is they was married to Henry and without that they would disappear in History. This then leads to the finale song "Six"

Six is one of the few musicals you are allowed to record the megamix "megasix". I can 100% guarantee all the songs will stay in your head forever to the point you can sing them word perfect!

The show is only a 1 hour and 20mins but is the best one currently in the West End and on tour and you will have the best time! and you will never forget the order of the wives, Divorced, Beheaded, Died, Divorced, Beheaded, Survive! It has fast become the go-to show when ever i feel down and need a instant pick-me-up.

If this show comes to a theatre near you, go and see it!

Update: 31st August 2022

Saw the show at the Blackpool Winter Gardens and it is still just as good. There has been a change of touring cast since last seen a tour performance and this is one of the best casts! The energy seems to be another level and the performances WOW! This version of Heart of Stone was even more powerful and emotional than any other i have seen and heard. If this current touring cast come to your local theatre go and see them!
